Mr.
Stone began his musical career in his home town of Tampa, Florida
and was twice first chair in the Florida all state band while
giving private lessons and performing around the central Florida
region. He joined the Air Force and spent six years performing
with the Air Force Band before returning to school at St. Mary's
University and graduating with Summa Cum Laude honors. While in
San Antonio, Mr. Stone performed with the San Antonio Symphony,
the San Antonio Opera Guild, and principal bassoonist with the
San Antonio Municipal Band. He has performed in nearly every genre
of music including professional jazz bands, popular music groups
and broadway style musicals, where he has been both performer
and musical director. Mr. Stone has served as clinician, adjudicator,
and drill designer throughout Texas and currently performs with
the Tyler Community Band. Mr. Stone is in his 18th year of teaching
in Texas public schools. He is married to his wife of 22 years,
Joyce and has two daughters Lindsey and Lauren.
Mr.
Stone sponsors ninth grade.
