GUIDANCE

 

I have the opportunity each week to work with each grade level during developmental classroom guidance.  We work on a variety of topics including character education, social skills, conflict resolution, self-esteem, anger management, goal setting/achieving, and career exploration just to name a few.

 

The students look forward to my lessons which involve group discussions, stories, games, artwork and other fun activities.  They are designed to help the kids develop successfully both socially and emotionally while reinforcing the daily efforts of our faculty and administration.  The students learn skills they can practice anywhere, not just at school.

                                                   COUNSELING

 

As a counselor, one of the services I am able to offer our students is that of individual and group counseling.  I provide a non-threatening environment where we talk about the situations in their lives and I help them learn to help themselves.  They also share their accomplishments, hopes, and dreams with me.  I have been intensively trained to assist those I work with in building self-esteem, self-understanding, and self-efficacy.  Our kids are our future and I feel honored to be able to be a part of their journey.  I assist them in developing personal skills that will benefit them for a lifetime.
